Lecturer (Dance History)
Kathleen Redwine began her dance training in Ft. Worth, Texas where she received Ford Foundation Scholarships. Her influential dance teachers include Yvonne Chouteau, Miguel Terekhov, Fernando Schaffenburg and Ko Yukihiro. She received both a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree and a Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of Oklahoma.
Redwine has performed with the Ft. Worth Ballet, Oklahoma City Metropolitan Ballet, and was a principal dancer with Ballet Contemporain de Bruxelles in Brussels, Belgium. Her choreography has been performed both in Europe and the United States.
Redwine's dance teaching experience includes ballet, modern dance and yoga, which she taught in Amsterdam, Netherlands and Brussels, Belgium. She has also taught modern dance at the University of Leuven in Belgium. As an instructor at Classen School of Advanced Studies in Oklahoma City, she taught advanced ballet and modern dance.
Redwine currently teaches and performs Middle Eastern dance in the Oklahoma City area. Her dance reviews have been published in The Oklahoman since 2005.
Redwine has taught dance history, modern dance, belly dance, pilates and yoga at the University of Oklahoma since 2001, and is the editor of the School of Dance newsletter, Call Board.
