Free Performance Saturday, November 13th

For this Informal Performance, OFB is thrilled to present a new work by Oklahoma City Ballet's rehearsal director Ryan Nye. We are also excited to showcase a work by renowned young choreographer and this year's Brackett Distinguished Visiting Artist, Sidra Bell. The program will feature a dynamic and fun piece by Director Michael Bearden and a preview of Sleeping Beauty by Assistant Professor Boyko Dossev. Seniors will present variations in celebration of their final year and upcoming graduation.

Five Moons Dance Festival

The OU School of Dance is pleased to launch the Five Moons Dance Festival which will celebrate the legacies of Maria Tallchief, Marjorie Tallchief, Rosella Hightower, Moscelyne Larkin and Yvonne Chouteau. These five Native American ballerinas were born or raised in Oklahoma and their courage, passion and perseverance propelled them to perform on the world’s greatest stages and leave a lasting mark on the dance world.

BALLET UNDER THE STARS

SCISSORTAIL PARK’S LOVE’S TRAVEL STOPS STAGE & GREAT LAWN

Celebrate the beauty of Oklahoma City Ballet, and downtown Oklahoma City, at the Second Annual Ballet Under the Stars. This free community performance will feature excerpts of classical ballet and modern dance by our professional dancers, students from the OU School of Dance, and students in the Oklahoma City Ballet Yvonne Chouteau School. Pack a picnic, bring a blanket, and enjoy a beautiful night of fun for the whole family.

No tickets or reservations required.

The schedule for the evening:

  • 5:30-6:30 pm  |  Dancers warm-up on stage
  • 6:00-6:30 pm  |  Meet and Greet with dancers
  • 6:30-7:00 pm  |  Family Dance Class (part of OKC Ballet’s BRIDGE initiative)
  • 7:00-8:00 pm  |  Ballet Under the Stars performance
