Bio
Madi McVey grew up in West Palm Beach, Florida where she trained seriously at A.W. Dreyfoos School of the Arts and the Florida School for Dance Education. At Dreyfoos, she received impeccable instruction in Horton from Branndi Lewis, ballet from Heather Lescaille, and jazz from Gary Q. Lewis, who all helped shape her into a versatile and well-rounded dancer. Madi also had the opportunity to be in original works by Yannick Lebrun, Nancy Lushington, Solomon Dumas, Ray Mercer, Penny Saunders, and many more. While simultaneously training at the Florida School for Dance Education, Madi had the privilege of being the Dew Drop Fairy in a production of The Nutcracker, as well as other solo and corp roles in both ballet and contemporary based performances.
Madi is currently a senior at the University of Oklahoma where she will be graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Modern Performance. She has been able to continue to grow technically and artistically in modern/contemporary under the guidance of Roxanne Lyst, Leslie Kraus, and Austin Hartel. Additionally, she has continued to explore her passion for ballet with Glenn Edgerton and Boyko Dossev. Over the last three years at the University of Oklahoma, Madi had the opportunity to work with renowned dancers and choreographers, including Alfred Dove, Amadi ‘Baye” Washington and Sam ‘Asa’ Pratt, Netta Yerushalmy, and Thang Dao. Madi is excited to continue improving her technique and artistry throughout her senior year and looks forward to her upcoming graduation in May of 2026.
