The University of Oklahoma School of Dance Summer Intensive

Dates: June 1-27, 2026 | Ages: 14-20

Youth Performer’s Program

The OU School of Dance Summer Intensive is designed for young dancers seeking advanced training in ballet and modern techniques. Open to students ages 14–20, the program emphasizes technical development, artistic growth, and pre-professional performance experience in a university setting.

Participants engage in a robust curriculum that includes ballet technique, pointe, modern dance, choreography, and repertory. Classes are led by School of Dance faculty and internationally recognized guest artists, offering students insight into the expectations of both collegiate and professional dance environments.

The program runs for four weeks, with two-week participation options available. A separate one-week Young Performer’s Program is offered for dancers ages 10–13, providing age-appropriate technique classes and a chance to perform in a studio showcase.

Held on the OU Norman campus, the program provides both housing and commuter options. Dancers train in state-of-the-art facilities and have opportunities to perform in the Donald W. Reynolds Performing Arts Center.
